Honeywell Air Cleaner

Any reason why I can’t clean the inner filter on my Delta Ap200 ambient air filter? I’m sure it won’t be good as new, but will it hurt?

Our HVAC friend recommended that we consider the Trane CleanEffects system. We have terrible allergies (to the point of replacing wall-to-wall with hardwood) and he thinks it’s a great system. We currently use Honeywell room purifiers, however they are really loud and my husband hates it. Since Honeywell is a brand I use and trust, I am trying to find out if there are significant performance and cost differences between the two. From what I gather from the Trane marketing material is that the Trane filter is non-porous creating less pressure drop. Beyond that, I don’t know what the difference is in air quality or cost. So I guess I have three questions:
What are the performance differences?
What are the cost (unit, installation, filters) differences?
If you use either of these systems in your own home, what do you love/hate about it?

Been living in the same house for 8 years. Old home was redone before we bought it. When we moved in, we fixed a leaky roof in the back that had caused a little bit of mold on the ceiling. All fixed, no issues. Still have some problems with mold growth in the bathroom, however. Vent fan must not be cutting it or something.. I dunno. But I do my best to keep ontop of cleaning and sterilizing until we have saved up enough to completely gut and redo the bathroom.
Anyways, since moving in, we have had 2 kids.
I have never had issues with allergies until around the time I had moved here. (Could be from farmland though, as I had moved from the city.)

The point is, my husband gets reoccuring sinus and upper-resperatory infections. Our daughters get them every year as well, and I have seasonal allergies (or so i presume) but it seems all our symptoms get worse when it’s damp outside (after a rain, or when snow starts melting). Could this be a mold allergy? Symptoms also get worse during the night.

We put in a new furnace a couple of months ago and so i now know it’s not from dust (we had all ductwork thoroughly cleaned as well).

Thinking an air purifier may be our last hope. My MIL bought an edenpure ozone generating one. They have no problems with allergies at their home, and it seems mine get better for a while when i visit. I don’t think an ozone one would be a good idea with kids in the home though, so I am looking at a Rabbit Air BioGS 421A .

Does anyone have a clue as to what this all could be? Would an air purifier really make a difference?
My allergy symptoms also were almost gone visiting his grandparents over Christmas. They have a very clean home AND a cheaper honeywell air purifier…. I’m just wondering why symptoms seem worse at home? I dunno… what is mold allergy like?

We do not live in a polluted area or where there is traffic. Our carbon monoxide reader is not detecting anything so I’m not sure what it can be.

Our shades are getting black spots on them and our air purifier keeps picking up this stuff. Each time we clean it it’s all black.

It’s been going on for a long time. Sometimes we wake up with headaches or coughing but we’re not sure if that has anything to do with this stuff. What should we do?

Lenox 2 ton 15 SEER upstairs with new AH and lines going outside and new programmable thermostat. With honeywell media air cleaner. New pad, drain pan. No ductwork mods up or down.

Company wants ,500 total for all 4 tons installed. Is this price too high?

Why is the air cleaner needed?

It smells better, but is that just wishful thinking?

I used to use a carpet freshner in an old job, but i cant recall the brand. Can anyone suggest a good cleaner with a scent of bubblegum (strawberry hubba bubba). Thanks

Haynes Manual just says to use a sealant when reinstalling the parts….don’t know if there is or isn’t a leak….will use one of the sealants you suggest.

I find that the suction force is much lesser when using the narrower nozzle. Any idea why? There are no cracks in the narrow nozzle.

P.S: Since the same amount of air is exhaled per unit of time whether using the broader nozzle or the narrower nozzle, more air must enter the nozzle per square inch when using a narrower nozzle, hence the suction force is expected to be more.

how to clean a filter cloth i a vacuum cleaner and air cooler?

Once i see a spider in my house i usually suck him up with the vacuum cleaner. Can they actually survive the suction of the fierce air and crawl out? It’s an hoover upright 12amp vacuum cleaner.

Does any one have any info on what i should do? Its a Helix 150cc Go-kart by american sportsworks. We bought a brand new UNI air filter for it and nothing. Any help well be great!
